Customer ledger
The running account of every demand raised, payment received, credit note and interest charge for one buyer's unit, with the balance due.
Also called: statement of account, SOA
A customer ledger records each demand and each receipt against a unit, in date order, with the running balance. Buyers ask for it when they reconcile with their bank, and auditors check it against the books.
If the sales CRM and the accounting system each keep a version of the ledger, they will drift. Pick one source of truth for buyer dues and sync the other, for example by exporting receipts to Tally.
