Pricing and charges
Transfer charges
A fee the developer charges when a buyer sells or assigns an under-construction unit to someone else before possession. Often a per sq ft amount.
Also called: assignment charges, nomination charges
When a buyer assigns their booking to a new buyer before possession, the developer typically charges a transfer fee and executes fresh documents. The fee is often stated per sq ft or as a percentage of the price.
Transfer requests need a clean process: check dues are paid, issue a no-dues letter, update the customer record and ledger, and generate new demand letters in the new buyer's name. Doing this in spreadsheets often leaves stale contacts on the account.
