Allotment letter
The letter a developer issues after booking, confirming the unit allotted to the buyer, price, payment plan and key terms, before the agreement for sale.
An allotment letter confirms that a specific unit has been allotted to the buyer. It usually states the unit number, carpet area, price, payment schedule and booking amount received. Banks often ask for it when processing a home loan.
The allotment letter should match the cost sheet and the eventual agreement for sale exactly. Generate it from the same unit and price data in your system. Hand-edited Word templates drift.
Remember RERA Section 13: you cannot collect more than 10% of the cost before an agreement for sale is signed and registered. The allotment letter does not replace that agreement.
